What I don't have personal experience as a jeep safari driver, I can share some historical context of the park and general information about the jeep safari and car hire options. History of Manas National Park Manas has a righ and varied history, from a hunting ground to a globally significant conservation area. Pre - 1865: The area was under the Kingdom of Bhutan. 1907 : The area was proposed as a Reserve Forest, with hunting prohibited and activityes regulated. October 1, 1928 : The Manas Wildlife Sanctury was officially declared with an area of 391 km. Pre - Independence Era : It was used as aprimary hunting ground by the king of Gauripur and the royal family of Coochbihar. April 1973 : It was established as the core of the Manas Tiger Reserve under project Tuger. 1985 : It was recognized as a UNESCO World Haritage siteext here...
